10 Places in Mexico to See Before You Die
In honor of the book 1000 Places to See Before You Die, I’ve compiled the top ten list of places to see in Mexico. These are just a small sample of the endless interesting places to see in Mexico.
10. Playa del Carmen
One of the best places to enjoy the white sand and turquoise blue waters of the Carribean coast.
9. Belize Coral Reef
Mexico is home to the world’s second largest coral reef located off the coast of the Yucatan peninsula. It stretches from southern Quintana Roo, Mexico and all along the coast of Belize down to the Bay Islands of Honduras. It is one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world.

8. Ixtapa-Zihuantanejo
A great place for ecotourism, including opportunities to participate in wildlife conservation programs to help protect the endangered hawksbill turtle and Olive Ridley sea turtle.
7. Cancun
2 million annual visitors can’t be wrong.
6. Loreto
Home to the largest sustainable development in North America and the migration of blue whales.
5. Peña de Bernal
At 350m, la Peña de Bernal is the largest rocky formation in Mexico. If you like to climb or hike, this is the spot to be in Mexico. I also heard the views are spectacular.
4. Los Cabos
At the tip of the Baja Peninsula you can spot grey whales, go scuba diving, and enjoy the scenic views.

3. Las Barrancas del Cobre (The Copper Canyon)
A 60,000 square km national park ideal for hiking and exploring the vast canyons and a 16,000 kilometer labyrinth of rivers.
2. Puebla
5,000 colonial buildings, most built during the 16th century. Known for the architecture of the Cathedral de Puebla.
