Cabo San Lucas: Real Estate Review

When considering Cabo San Lucus real estate, there are some important things you should know.

McDonaldization of Cabo

Many common American restaurants and businesses are in Cabo such as McDonald’s, Burger King, and Ford dealerships. Some people see Cabo as becoming unauthentic and less exotic as a tourist destination.

Cabo Real Estate May Be Over Saturated

Cabo San Lucas is one of the most developed locations in Mexico in both infrastructure and businesses. With eight golf courses, Cabo may be too saturated for new opportunities. “The days of finding a $30,000 beachfront property in Baja, are basically over” says Gustavo Torres in an interview with The Christian Science Monitor.

Migration of Americans from Southern California

Cabo Real Estate is still a steal compared to Southern California so many Americans who are priced out of the market have migrated south. This trend will likely be accelerated by the spike of retiring baby boomers.

Cabo San Lucas real estate is still an attractive investment, however there is less potential for appreciation than in years past.

They say a profitable realestate investment piece of property located in Cabo, Mexico is the best way to go and I totally agree with that.

Sad but true – the resort corridor boom of Los Cabos these last 5-10 years has sent waves across Baja and helped raise property prices. Though when looking at the growth potential and above mentioned baby boom retirement, Baja remains attractive. Whether one wants to retire, invest or vacation in Baja, there are many options from fractional ownership, full ownership and the rental market. Next in line – the pristine beaches of East Cape.
