Trump Cozumel Resort Plan Still Alive

The possibility of the Trump Organization building a mega-resort in Cozumel, Mexico surfaced again last week.

In response to local press reports about the development, Donald Trump Jr, Executive Vice President at the Trump Organization, said they “would still be interested in doing a deal”.

The Trump Organization said last May that the plans were not being pursued at that particular time, but 8 months later it seems they have still not been dropped altogether.

Carlos Slim’s New $800 Million Real Estate Development in Mexico City

The real estate slowdown has not discouraged Mexico’s richest man to continue to invest in real estate. Carlos Slim, who was named the world’s second richest man by Forbes earlier this year, controls Grupo Carso, which plans to build a $800 million real estate complex in Mexico City. The Next Cancun? FONATUR Thinks So.

President Calderón and the National Trust for Tourism Development, recently announced a new $5 billion peso project to create the next big tourist destination in Mexico in southern Sinaloa.
