NEWS FLASH: Just yesterday, the Mexican government formally invited bids to build and operate the new Tulum airport. This was the announcement that had been postponed various times before, but now has finally happened.

No more “ifs and buts”: Tulum airport is happening (the Real Estate Channel article was written before this development and is now somewhat out of date).

True, bidders still have to make proposals and the government still has to select a winner, but you can rest assured that they wouldn’t have put the airport out to tender if they didn’t do their research first and know they would get interest and viable bids. The final proposal could be selected as soon as the end of this year.
