One of the more interesting developments in Mexico real estate is called Hydra Wave and is being constructed by Hydra Properties, a leading United Arab Emirates developer that is in the process of constructing several mega developments. The CEO, Dr. Sulaiman Al Fahim, who has his own Apprentice -like reality show said "We have chosen to launch our property in Mazatlan because, like UAE, it offers visitors diverse choices in tourism including its rich heritage and traditions, and colorful colonial-style architecture".
The 500 million dollar project being constructed in Mazatlan is planned to comprise of a five star hotel with 500 rooms, 1,000 apartments with a view of the ocean, a 1,000-seat conference center, shopping centre and ballroom hall. The Hydra Beach Front Waves Tower will have 172 fulltime condominium units and feature a 500 square meter (5381.9 square feet) rooftop restaurant.
Hydra has just opened a headquarters and sales office in Mazatlan in May and the project is expected to be finished in 30 months. According to ameinfo.com, 30% of the luxury units were sold at Cityscape, a real estate event in Abu Dhabi. So far excavation has been completed since the project started about a year ago.

Mazatlan

I think that Mazatlan will continue to become a great place to invest in real estate. It is a beautiful place that people want to pay to be at, plus it has great name recognition.

Be very careful of investing with Hydra Properties. They are becoming wellknown in the UAE as scammers. They have announced around 10 major projects over the past 2 years but have not yet properly started any of them. They also operate in a way that would be outside the law in most countries. This includes increasing the original price of the offplan property and forcing regular payments when they can show no construction progress. If the investor doesn’t pay, Hydra will keep any deposits/payments made previously. For further information please see the Hydra Investors group on facebook.
